Our Practice is currently staffed by 3 full time veterinary surgeons,
Practice Principle Rowan Lobb who joined the Practice in 1989 and
senior assistant Gina Nickelson who has been with the Practice since
qualifying in 1997. Emmie Stanford joined the practice in March 2005, qualifying from Bristol in 2000.
Rowan
qualified in 1986 from the University of Cambridge and started practice
in a mixed practice in Wimborne, Dorset where he was exposed to
all species at large. Following a brief spell during 1988/89 acting
as veterinary surgeon/advisor to the American Pharmaceutical Company
Merck, Sharp and Dohme, he returned to his native Cornwall with
his wife Wendy in 1989 to the Highertown Veterinary Clinic and became
a partner with Chris Gregson in 1991. Gina qualified from the University
of Bristol and immediately entered small animal practice
in Truro in 1997 at the Highertown Veterinary Clinic.
We
are a Veterinary Nurse Training Centre and employ only qualified
listed nurses or student nurses under suitable supervision. This
entails operating under strict guidelines of quality from the Royal
College of Veterinary Surgeons and ensures the care of patients
is under proper supervision at all levels. We currently employ 2
qualified and 2 student nurses.
